TeleTech Community Foundation Makes Impact on Global Basis

Foundation Donated Half a Million Dollars to 86 Educational Organizations Around the World; Contributed Modern Technology to Students in Colorado and Helped Build a Philippines School's First Library

DENVER, June 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TeleTech Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TeleTech), a leading provider of customer experience, engagement and growth solutions, today shared that the TeleTech Community Foundation (the Foundation) donated more than $500,000 to charitable organizations globally in 2014 and has been able to impact schools, libraries, after-school groups, museums and more, in the Philippines, Mexico, Haiti, Brazil, UK, and across the U.S. By focusing efforts on improving the educational experience for those in the most need, the Foundation reflects two of TeleTech's six corporate values – "do the right thing" and "reach for amazing."

Provided modern technology to students

The Foundation fulfilled more than 20 technology-specific grant requests last year. Among them was the request to provide support for a Dome Theater at Kingwood Elementary School in Morgantown, WV, which would allow students to learn in a fun "edutainment" setting. In addition, the Foundation donated iPads worth $50,000 to University Preparatory School in Denver, Colorado, as well as computers, printers, projectors, smart boards and more. Thanks to the expertise of our Information Technology team, the Foundation was also able to provide consultation and support to numerous educational organizations.

Enhanced arts and music education

A 10-year partnership with the Denver Art Museum allows the Foundation to bring the arts to thousands of children and families each day in Colorado. In the TeleTech-sponsored Just for Fun Center, art activities are free and available to the public. From dressing up in costumes to coloring pictures, the Foundation has provided the ability for children to enjoy these activities in one of the most renowned art museums in the world. In addition to this partnership, a number of grant requests from TeleTech employees were received and fulfilled to enhance the musical experience for students. One of those requests was for the Swallow Hill Music association in Denver, Colorado, which provides music instruction for underprivileged students.

Built state-of-the-art learning environments

In September, Dominique Savio Primary School opened its doors for the first time since the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti. With support from the Foundation and the TeleTech facilities team, the school was rebuilt and furnished to accommodate the more than 250 students who occupy the building today. Thousands of miles away, the Foundation also partnered with the Facilities team to build a set of bleachers at St. Francis of Assisi School in Silay City, Philippines. The community was very grateful for this gift, as they formerly had to sit on the grass and dirt during school events.

Improved reading skills

From Mexico to the Philippines and the U.S., TeleTech employees read and gave books to hundreds of students this year. In Leon, Mexico, the Foundation fulfilled a grant request from Universidad de La Salle Bajio A.C. to purchase books that have been used to tutor nearly 300 students. In the Philippines, our employees played a key part in the construction of a new library and the donation of books for the children at Masamat Elementary School. And finally, in the U.S., 40 employees from corporate headquarters in Colorado volunteered to read to 125 students at University Preparatory School through our Book Trust partnership, which funds at-home libraries for students.

"The TeleTech Community Foundation was founded on the principle that education is the key to a successful community," said Richard Herbst, vice president of the TeleTech Community Foundation. "Each year, the Foundation impacts the global communities where our employees live and work by providing funds, volunteers, services in-kind, and equipment donations that help transform the educational experiences for students of the greatest need."
